The Nominating Committee for District Governor 2011-12 comprising of PDG. Krish Rajendran - Chairman (nominated by the College of Governors), IPDG. Thariq Thulba (by virtue of being IPDG), Rtn. PP. H.M.Y.B. Malmeewala (RC of Athugalpura), Rtn. PP. Imran Hassen (RC of Cinnamon Gardens), Rtn. PP. Capt. Suranjan de Silva (RC of Colombo Down Town), Rtn. PP. Dr. Suresh Britto (RC of Colombo Uptown) and Rtn. PP. Sanjeewa Hulangamuwa (RC of Kandy), on 17 May, interviewed the 2 proposed candidates - Rtn. PP. K. Thirunavukkarasu (RC of Colombo Regal) and Rtn. PP. Gehan Siribaddana (RC of Battaramulla), by a unanimous decision have selected and nominated Rtn. PP. Gehan Siribaddana as the District Governor Nominee.
Notwithstanding the nomination made by the Nominating Committee, any Club in the District may propose a candidate who has previously been considered by the Committee for District Governor Nominee by sending to the District Governor, within 14 days of the District Governor's communication, a resolution adopted by the Club at a regular meeting duly certified by the Club President and Secretary, along with the written consent of the candidate.
